Intelligent Systems Podcast: Hannah Love on Team Science, Collaboration, and Healthy Research Ecosystems

In this episode of the University of Memphis Institute for Intelligent Systems’ Intelligent Systems podcast, Dr. Leah Windsor speaks with Dr. Hannah Love about team science, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the structures that help research teams thrive. Their conversation explores how teams create knowledge, establish healthy communication and decision-making practices, manage conflict, clarify roles and authorship, and build collaborative agreements that evolve as a project and its people change over time.

About Dr. Hannah Love

Dr. Hannah Love is the co-founder of Divergent Science, a company that helps scientific teams create new knowledge and develop solutions for complex global problems. She holds a PhD in sociology from Colorado State University, as well as graduate training in higher education, and has facilitated work in higher education, water conflict, and science collaboration since 2010.

Love’s scholarship and professional practice focus on the science of team science: how teams communicate, organize, make decisions, and produce new knowledge. Since 2015, she has designed team-science trainings, meeting agendas, and facilitation processes informed by team-science research. Her work also uses social network analysis to study the processes through which teams build knowledge together.
