Intel­li­gent Ecosys­tems is an IIS ini­tia­tive to explore the sys­temic dynam­ics of human and nat­ur­al process­es. This includes envi­ron­men­tal ecosys­tems, inter­ac­tions between humans and their nat­ur­al sur­round­ings, among humans, and with­in groups of sen­tient beings and their envi­ron­ment.

Envi­ron­men­tal ecosys­tems, includ­ing the dynam­ics of water flow and the water cycle, nat­ur­al process­es such as adap­ta­tion and evo­lu­tion, pat­terns in nature mod­eled math­e­mat­i­cal­ly, and inter­ac­tions among plan­ets and astron­o­my in the uni­verse.
